Delhi Rent Control Act, 1958
Stamp duty
Stamp duty in Delhi is 2% of the average annual rent. Registration charges are additional 1%. Notarization is recommended. Note: the Delhi Rent Control Act, 1958 applies only to premises with a monthly rent of ₹3,500 or less (Section 3(c)) and exempts recently constructed premises; other lettings are governed by the Transfer of Property Act, 1882.
